Pesky Alligators Rock Out
One of the highlights for me in regard to recent gigs was a cold yet welcoming Monday night late February at the Half Crown Long Eaton courtesy of Phil & Leslie (Landlord and Landlady) and duo Kirsty & Tim, who together are known as the Pesky Alligators.
The sound that the Pesky Alligators greet you with from their twisting guitar and raunchy drum beat is nothing but explosive and if it does not set the pulse racing then you need to make an appointment at your local undertakers. Their set list is truly inspiring from Depeche Mode to Dolly Parton, along with some ACDC and Motorhead classic rock thrown in for good measure, in addition to strong own/original material. I particularly enjoyed Gay Buccaneers ….Kind of reminded me of Johnny Leyton’s Johnny Remember Me, with its high tempo, driving drumming, haunting vocals and beautifully harrowing guitar beat….If you have not experienced the Pesky Alligators I strong recommend that you do…..totally awesome..
Additionally I also wish Phil and Leslie at the Half Crown all the luck in the world as they continue to look to breathe life into a Monday night offering live music, good beer and good company.
